Covid - a journey in pictures

Is a picture worth a thousand words?

Covid - a journey in pictures
Cherry Blossom, Karl Terry

We thought it might be interesting to take a look back to March, when our Covid journey began, using the Rye News media library. The story began with many of us struggling to make our own masks and coming to terms with the "new normal".

Despite the horror of the pandemic there has been remarkable resilience and creativity.

Teams of volunteers have come forward - Rye Mutual Aid, food banks, community transport meeting needs, and many more charitable acts by individuals and groups.

Businesses have adapted in any way they can, many upgrading their online presence, restaurants have offered take-aways and home deliveries, or opened up to customers in new ways. Shops and galleries have gone virtual and we are probably all "Zoomed out".

But the vaccine is offering us new hope and there is nothing we at Rye News want more than to fill up our 2021 media gallery with positive images of life as we know it can be.

[Editor's note: However you may have a photo that sums up 2020 for you - good, or bad - that you would like to send in]
