This Saturday's (August 17) Rye and District Country Show returns to the outskirts of Icklesham on the A259 between 9:30am and 4pm.

Entry is £5 for adults, but under 16s go free, and there is a large on-site car park at Elm Tree Farm on the A259, to the right as you drive into Icklesham from Rye.

Highlights include the horse, donkey and dog shows, a classic car show, and a country fair, and the show kicks off with the Tigers Army Parachute Display from the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.

The 1st Cinque Port Rifle Volunteers Corps of Drums also feature, and (as usual) much may depend on the weather - currently forecast to be mixed with clouds and possibly some showers.

However the Country Living tent should be full of produce and craft stalls, and other stalls offering food and drinks can be expected in this fundraiser for the local St Michael's Hospice.

The classic cars usually attract lots of interest, as does the terrier racing - and the horse jumping is always a joy to watch.
