Cookshop extraordinaire afresh

It was a sad day when Ironmongers Extraordinary closed down, for locals and visitors alike. That shop had become an attraction in its own right, with everything you would want for the kitchen and beyond. But now it has risen again, with Nigel Bourne opening a new incarnation - the Rye Cookshop - in

Local residents and visitors to the High Street were dismayed when Ironmongers Extraordinary closed down earlier this year, but Saturday September 17 saw the opening of the new Rye Cookshop.

Former manager of Ironmongers Extraordinary and local man, Nigel Bourne, has opened his own shop on the site of Rose-Anne’s ladies clothing store in Rye High Street. The shop has undertaken a full refurbishment with handmade shelving, counter, display units and shop sign.

It is set to become Rye’s cookware emporium providing an array of cookware, glassware, ovenware, kitchenware, tableware and unexpected gadgets to help make cooking time a pleasure. A great place to visit for anyone interested in cooking from novice to professional; a great place to buy a gift for the cookware fanatic in your family.

With many years experience and knowledge in this business, you can rely on Nigel to give you professional advice and recommendations if required, and make you feel welcome if you would just like to browse.
