Rye College is thrilled to announce the four winners of the school Christmas card art competition. These budding artists have truly captured the magic of the season with their beautiful designs. Working in collaboration with the Sunflower Charity Shop and the Strand Quay Gallery, who kindly created, judged and donated prizes for the artistic Christmas Scene competition, which was part of Christmas in Rye Festival.

Congratulations to our winners:

1st prize – Olivia, year 7 for the cheeky Christmas horse.
2nd prize – John, year 9 and his fabulous Christmas dinner spread.
3rd prize – Dolly, year 7 with a lovely Mr & Mrs Snowman.
Special design mention – Arrietty, year 7 for a beautiful Christmas tree watercolour.

Thank you to everyone who participated and our wonderfully supportive Rye business community. We were delighted to join some of the winners on Saturday, December 7 as they received their prizes from Andy Stuart, mayor of Rye.

Maria Mewburn, from the Sunflower Charity Shop, commended the the initiative. "We hope to continue providing opportunities for the creation and enjoyment of art with local children. It plays an important role in enhancing mental wellbeing, which is really important to us as a charity."
