This month Rye Film Club presentsThe Shape of Water – one of the biggest films of the past year. The story is set in a top-secret research facility where lonely janitor Elisa Esposito (Sally Hawkins) forms a unique relationship with a mysterious amphibious creature being held in captivity. Hawkins was Oscar nominated not just for her role in this film but also for Maudie, which we showed last month. She chose this film of the two to be put forward for consideration. A magnificent fable from master storyteller Guillermo del Toro.
