Rye Christmas Festival has announced that this year's festival is cancelled because of the pandemic - but some aspects of it may be possible where there are no social distancing problems.
In particular Father Christmas may be able to make a flying visit - as opening his grotto would be impossible - and the Christmas lights will go up, if enough volunteers can be found to do this.
