The summer chamber music festival in Peasmarsh church, directed by Anthony Marwood and Richard Lester, is a cherished regular feature in the diaries of music lovers from near and far.
This year Anthony and Richard’s guests are the Britten Sinfonia, a virtuoso orchestra which regularly plays at the Proms, the Barbican, and the Aldeburgh Festival, as well as some outstanding chamber musicians:
- Two pianists: Aleksander Madzar, Anthony’s regular recital partner and Ellen Hwangbo from the USA who has played with Anthony at the Yellow Barn Festival, Vermont
- Pablo Hernan Benedi, violin, who has played at Peasmarsh as a member of the Trio Isimiz; Daniel Bard, viola, from Israel: and Kate Gould, cello, and a regular visitor to Peasmarsh, and
- The Doric String Quartet, who played at Peasmarsh in 2011 and have become one of the most successful young quartets with several acclaimed CDs and a busy concert schedule.
