To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.

This week, the artist in focus is Kate Schuricht
Kate makes raku and stoneware ceramics that embody a sense of stillness and her vessels and containers are inspired by connections to the past and attempt to capture moments of tranquillity - while her signature bound containers with their permanently secured lids evoke a sense of mystery.
Kate is a professional member of the Craft Potters Association, runs one to one courses from her Kent studio and has a busy year ahead and will be exhibiting at:
- Japanese Textile & Craft Festival, Craft Central, London (May 26-30);
- South East Open Studios with Karen Birchwood (June 11,12,13,18,19 & 20);
- Sussex Guild Shows: Pashley Manor Gardens (August 28-30) and De La Warr Pavilion Show (October 23 & 24); and
- Midhurst Show (December 4 & 5).
