Ceramic tranquillity

Containers with a sense of mystery

Ceramic tranquillity
Kate Schuricht

To celebrate the launch of the Rye Society of Artists’ (RSA) new website, Rye News continues to profile one of their artists each week – including links to their website and social media accounts so you can keep up-to-date on their activities.

You can view some of the RSA member’s work at their 70th Anniversary Summer Show later in 2021, date to be confirmed.

This week, the artist in focus is Kate Schuricht

Kate makes raku and stoneware ceramics that embody a sense of stillness and her vessels and containers are inspired by connections to the past and attempt to capture moments of tranquillity - while her signature bound containers with their permanently secured lids evoke a sense of mystery.

Kate is a professional member of the Craft Potters Association, runs one to one courses from her Kent studio and has a busy year ahead and will be exhibiting at:

You can see more of Kate’s work on her website,  and the RSA website
