Casuals open gap at the bottom

Saturday 26 March saw Icklesham Casuals 2nd team entertain St Leonards in a bottom of the table clash, whilst the 1st team travelled away from home to face bottom of the table Catsfield.

The 2nd team of Icklesham Casuals won their bottom of the table clash 2-1 against St Leonards, in the East Sussex Football League Division 5.

With a strong wind and bumpy pitch to contend with, chances were few and far between, with the score 0-0 at the interval, thanks to a good save from Luke Crisford in the Icklesham goal and a Dan Rumsey corner that hit the bar.

Casuals opened up a 7 point gap after beating St Leonards.

Icklesham took the lead late on, when a Blue Willoughby cross was blown into the top corner, only for St Leonards to equalise soon after, from a breakaway.

A last minute attack down the right and an excellent cross from Jon Fitton was finished by Tom Clare to give the Casuals the points.

Icklesham's 1st team suffered a disappointing loss, as they lost 3-1 away to Catsfield, with Adam Sully netting Casuals their only goal of the game, in the East Sussex Football League Division 2.
