Rye Harbour Sailability were delighted to welcome one of the original calendar girls to Playden WI Hall on Wednesday, September 15. Angela Knowles gave a humorous and at times hilarious account of how she and her friends raised £6 million (and counting) for blood cancer research. The event was supported by over 60 people and included members from Pett and Playden WI. Angela Knowles had travelled all the way from Yorkshire to donate her time and energy for the charity.

Huge thanks again to Jen and David Tomkinson who organised the tea with sandwiches, scones, jam and cream and a superb selection of Jen’s famous homemade cakes. Rye Harbour Sailability’s latest Christmas Cards were on sale. John Pulford has very kindly donated another unique design for the charity, that comically depicts Rye Harbour Sailability at the Strand in Rye. The cards are available from some local outlets including Adams of Rye or you can email dejltomkinson@btinternet.com.

Thank you everyone for coming to support Rye Harbour Sailability and help raise £717.00 for the charity.

Rye Harbour Sailability enables people with different abilities to experience the fun and freedom of sailing. If you would like to sail or if you want to volunteer your time and expertise to the charity, please email carolinewylson@btinternet.com
