It has turned into a bumper year at the Cards for Good Causes charity Christmas card shop at Rye Community Centre, writes Jane Nunn. Takings this year already exceed – admittedly by a few pence! – the final total for last year. This is so pleasing for all the local people who volunteer there. Luckily, the cards began moving quickly from day one, so the organisers were alerted and ordered extra supplies straightaway. Even so, an emergency order had to be placed today (December 8) and will be delivered overnight. So if you haven’t yet bought your cards – or need to top up – you’d best get down to the shop soon. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am-4pm.
Once again the magnificent Winchelsea Christmas will light up on Saturday 13th December at 4.30 p.m. With over 30 decorated themed windows, they will stay lit every evening
