Bringing Tuscan food here

Sunday lunch takes on a whole new meaning - with Tuscan flavours

The Tuscan Kitchen is getting back into business again under Jenny and Franco (pictured above) by opening on Thursday and Friday nights (from 6 t0 11:30pm) and Saturday (7-11:30pm) as well as Sunday lunch (11am-4pm) - but the hours may increase.

The food is often traditionally Tuscan, featuring ribollita - a hearty bread soup with black cabbage, cannellini beans, carrots, celery, potato and tomato - along with toasted ciabatta - most of which can be sourced locally, though perhaps not all.

The lengthy and detailed menu outside the front door highlights spezzatino alla senese, a slow cooked stew with veal, Florentine style peas, ham, garlic, shallots and parsley - more than enough to keep TV Italian detective, Inspector Montalbano, busy for a very long meal. And, of course, there is pasta of all sorts - along with some delicious desserts. (Source: Tuscan Kitchen)
