Looking to continue their winning streak after beating Tonbridge Junior Gunners U18 5-1 last week Beckley Rangers travelled away to Rotherfield U18s. After weeks of playing on poor pitches it was a pleasant surprise to see a pitch like Wembley! Read Ashleigh Fraser's match report
Beckley Rangers under 18s looked to continue their winning streak when they travelled away to Rotherfield U18s, writes Ashleigh Fraser. The game was a close affair with defences winning the first half 0-0. In the second half Rangers came out a lot stronger. Rangers' Sam Roberts broke down the right wing with the Rotherfield keeper running out and then Roberts lobbed the ball over the keeper's head for Sam Garner to head it home, 1-0 for Beckley.
Beckley continued pressing and got their reward when Sam Garner stabbed the ball home for his and Beckley's second. Rangers went on to miss some good chances to put the game out of reach and nearly got punished for it as Rotherfield headed the ball home 1-2, which made a nervous last 10 minutes.
But the Beckley defence held out to get the well deserved victory. The Lankelma and McCartney Productions Ltd Man of the Match this week was shared between Josh Zon and Joe Fraser. Beckley Rangers' next game is away to Hastings Utd U18.
