On Saturday, June 16 the Hastings Philharmonic (reduced) choir and orchestra performed the most wonderful collection of arias conducted by Marcio Da Silva. He joined the soloists who were incredible and the audience showed their appreciation by a standing ovation at the end. The choir practices in Hastings and has given many loved performances in various Hastings venues. Anyone interested in joining the choir or getting more information go to the Philharmonic website.
The concert was a pop up event and took place in an amazing new space in our town, Rock Channel area, the first large space as one enters is an art gallery and next to it one walks through to the large theatre space with an interesting designed stage. Martello Development generously made the venue available to help raise funds for the new Rye Harbour Discovery Centre. There are several ways to support the appeal like making a single gift, or a regular gift over one or two years by direct debit and becoming a friend.
