Investigations are continuing after a man's death on the beach at Camber on Monday, August 4. The forty-year-old man is thought to have been kitesurfing.
Police, ambulance and UK Coastguard were called to Broomhill Sands at 2.30pm.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police gave this update. "Emergency services attended a medical incident at Broomhill Sands, Camber, on Monday, 4 August. Sadly, a man aged 40 was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner."
On Thursday July 31, the emergency services were involved in the search for a missing vulnerable person on the beach between Fairlight and Bexhill. Five lifeboats were called to the incident at 7pm from RNLI Rye Harbour, RNLI Dungeness, RNLI Hastings and RNLI Eastbourne along with the Pett Level Independent Rescue Boat.Coastguard teams from Rye Bay, Hastings and Bexhill were also involved, as was the coastguard helicopter.After four hours, the search was called off at 11.00pm.
