All set for Halloween
Pumpkins galore at Lime Tree Farm, Brookland

Orange is the colour at Lime Tree Farm near Brookland. And all in aid of Pilgrims Hospices.

This popular farm, known for the breadth and quality of its home-grown fruit and veg, is covered with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes in the run-up to Halloween.

Dave Wheeler, who runs the farm with the help of three of his seven children, has been hosting the annual pumpkin paradise for the last four years. Daughter Jess does all the artwork on the straw bales and pumpkins, while son Ben does the heavy work of boxing up all the vegetables.

Customers are encouraged to make donations to the Pilgrims Hospices. Dave, from a local farming background, said: "My dad passed away in Pilgrims, and I think they do an awful lot of good for the local community."

A sentiment backed up by customer Phil Harding from Dover: "This is the best pumpkin farm around, and I like the idea of supporting the Pilgrims Hospices. The work they do is just fantastic."
