A259 resurfacing postponed

All change on roadworks

Rye News previously reported on the closure of the A259 in June/July 2018 to allow the road to be resurfaced. Highway engineering group A-one+, working on behalf of Highways England, has recently confirmed that the work will not now take place during the summer months. The reason given is due to Southern Water constructing a major new sewer plant in the area near Butcher's Lane, which is north of Hastings but close to the planned diversion route.
The information session for local residents and businesses which was planned to take place on Tuesday May 22 has also been postponed. The A259 resurfacing works, and information session, are planned to take place in September/October 2018, exact dates to be confirmed.
