On Saturday 16th May the Long Riders, plus special guest Rebecca Stroud, will be performing a night of Americana at St. Mary's Church in Rye. Rye's own "Sing it Out" choir will be supporting.
With fantastic acoustics, a great atmosphere, and plenty of room to dance in the aisles, St Mary's is the perfect venue for live music, and is a regular fixture at the Rye Jazz Festival.
The Long Riders, which have been assembled specially for this one-off show, are:
- Andy Guainiere (ex Ronnie Lane and Déjà Vu) on guitar, mandolin and vocals.
- Sacha Trochet (Tar Babies and Gig Spanner) on percussion.
- Jem Turpin (Bluesman Lane and previously Paris Texas) on harmonica and vocals.
- Rick DeLong (a veteran of many top bands in the USA) on bass.
- Cal Roberts (The Zircons and local sessions) on guitar and vocals.
- Jacob Willoughby (session and theatre musician) on keyboards.
The evening will feature hits from Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Dolly Parton, Rolling Stones, Tom Waits, Bonnie Raitt, J.J. Cale, Jackson Browne, Little Feat, and more.
Doors will open at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.
All proceeds from the concert will go towards the cost of regilding the Quarterboys on the church clock.
Tickets at £10 can be purchased from Grammar School Records, St. Mary's Church, Rye, or on the door.
The bar will be open during the interval.
