Signs are appearing on bins around Rye saying 'Thank You' to the refuse collectors.

It's one essential service we all make use of every week, but which is often overlooked.
And garden waste collections have had to be stopped because of illness among the workforce, and the NHS advice to self isolate until they feel better.
So let's not forget to say thank you to the refuse collectors who have dutifully collected our rubbish and recycling throughout the lockdown.
Sad to say though, the closure of the tips during the lockdown has led to a sharp increase in reports of fly tipping around the county, and some have ignored Rother District Council's plea to not make bonfires of their garden waste - and compost instead.
But the normal rubbish collections continue as regularly as ever - so thank you.
